Founded in 1809, KITAICHI SHIKKITEN is a long-established lacquerware store in Ishikawa Prefecture, celebrating its 216th anniversary this year.
We operate two specialty craft shops—Kanazawa Yu-Kobo and Toyama Yu-Kobo—located inside department stores in Kanazawa and Toyama. These directly managed stores feature a carefully curated selection of Ishikawa’s traditional crafts, including Wajima-nuri lacquerware and chopsticks, Notojima glass, Suzu ware, Yamanaka lacquerware, Kutani porcelain, Kanazawa gold leaf, Kaga Yuzen dyeing, and Ushikubi Tsumugi silk.
Following the devastating Noto Peninsula earthquake in January last year, we continue to support and sell crafts from 36 traditional production areas in Ishikawa, including many from the affected Noto region.
